Julia Air, originally from Russian and currently living in Spain, crafts visual metaphors for emotional and sensual states. Her paintings explore internal conditions, rather than external events, using recurring symbols like stairs, trees, and lone figures to construct minimal spaces that mirror universal inner experiences.

Her goal is to make contemplative space for difficult emotions—from loneliness to anxiety and peace—without judgment. This perspective allows for the discovery of nuanced truths, such as warmth in solitude. Her ongoing series, “CONDITIONS,” features a solitary figure navigating the symbolic landscapes of the mind, quietly asking the viewer to reflect on what those feelings look like inside them.
